COIN SWAP – INTERCAMBIO DE MONEDAS
my mail adress is: please do not list DIRECTLY this mail on your good swappers page. I hate spam mails, the web robots scan pages and send tons of spam. Listing it you can use brackets elamigo (@-means at) wp.pl
THE BEST YOU SHOULD DO IS ADDING THE LINK TO MY WEB PAGE on your web page or swappers list - instead my mail adress.
You can write me in english – is an universal language. Everybody speaks english – don’t you? - this page is in english.

Castellano  es mi segundo idioma – a veces incluso pienso en espanol - como nativo. Me pase muchos anos en Latinoamerica. Si eres hispanohablante – tomate la libertad de escribirme en tu lengua.
Po polsku też można...

Below - you will see my doubles list and some grading rules I believe and demand. You will also read about swapping. Please read carefully each section of this web page. We will avoid misunderstandings.

1. I offer mostly coins of Poland. As the polish law do not allow me to send abroad anything older than 55 years, I can offer only newer ones. But it’s a lot of stuff to swap yet. If you don’t see (in my doubles list) a polish coin you want – just ask for it. I have a lot more, I’m ready to send a coin even from my personal collection – but the swap must be worth it.

2. I have also some telephone cards, stamps and tickets – I would like to swap them for coins.I do not collect them. I also collect old treasury bills, obligations,  banknotes, printed stock papers, etc. We can arrange an interesting swap if you offer such articles. Most banknotes I had for swap are already gone. I can swap coins for banknotes - but it is hard to arrange.

My want list:

A. I’m an advanced collector. I have tousends  of coins. That means that I have most of the popular types of coins of the world of the XX century. What I’m looking for is quality now. Please do not offer me coins below a truly Very Fine +. I always demand a description of quality of each swapped coin. I always offer the same – precise describtion, even with macro photos.

B. My main interest are silver circulation coins up to 1965. There are tons of them at a very rational value. Unfortunately I can’t offer too much of similar ones. There were only a few types of silver circulation coins mint in Poland after  the 1953 , sometimes they appear in my swap list – but they are difficult to send anyway, they are quite heavy(at bulion value) and overvalued in Poland much above Krausse's value. If you want a silver coin from that period – ask me for the specific type. Maybe it’ll be available at the moment . They comes and go fast.
I offer many conmemorative and rare – quite high value – coins to compensate any swap for a popular silver coin. Off course most swappers do not offer silver coins for swap, or only a few ones. I collect other coins – by type. The only restriction is quality -
I like very much naturally toned copper and brass coins - brown and red-brown tonning. If you have some of them - do not forget to highlight this fact before the swap - I'll overvaluate them in the swap.

IMPORTANT – IF YOU ARE NOT SURE A COIN IS A VERY FINE ONE – be sure it isn’t.

What swapping rules I believe.
1. Every swap must be strictly described. It takes a lot of time. If you are not patient and ready to pass a lot of time arranging a swap – you will not swap with me. This way excludes coin professionals from swapping – time is money, especially for people who swap and sale professionally . I have some experience swapping with professionals – all of them bad or almost bad. They offer junk coins asking for the rarest ones. Most cases it’s a time waste or the better way to an unequal swap. It’s better to tell it at a start. For me is a hobby – for my swappers too.

If you collect one coin from the type only – please ask me to select the coins for you , writing only the types. I’ll select the best coin possible, but not the rarest year.
2. In a first swap I never send a big lot of really difficult coins (rare). I have bad experience with sending high value lots – in many cases I received not exactly what I expected for exchange or nothing... If you want to avoid multiple swaps – you can always send me as a first. Then I’ll send you anything you want. Normally – let’s start with a simple swap of popular coins. We have the whole life to make another swaps.
3. It’s possible that I send as first – but only very popular coins. Normally we send at the same time. Always registered post.

MY SWAPPING RESTRICTIONS:

1. I can’t send any coin older than 55 years. Off course I’m happy to receive coins like that – is a one way restriction in the polish law.

2. If you offer only very popular coins – cheapest ones – do not ask me for conmemorative or well valuated ones. The swap must be equivalent. I do not accept a hundred of junk coins  for 5 of my rare ones. The class of the swapped coins must be similar. Is not a pharmacy – it doesn’t have to be exact – but the idea remains. With some swappers I used a simple rule – the medium price of a coin in a lot must be equal   with acceptable difference of ± 25%. It works.

3. If you want 50 of my coins for only one of yours – off course I will accept such a swap. As many collectors I prefer less but better.
4. VALUATIONS – basically we use latest Krause values. If you don’t have the latest catalogue – can be an older one – in most cases the proportion remains similar . But this type of valuation excludes from swapping some coins Krause undervalue. There are tons of coins for which Krause is a wrong reference – they have substantially higer value on the local market than the catalogue presents. Krause is reference – not the ultimate judge – especially talking about VF popular coins.
5. Everybody has coins easier and harder to swap. Many swappers list only the easiest coins. I list them all. Some of them i’d preffer to swap for a really interesting ones. Do not ask me for a coin that I have only one if you don’t offer something objectively nice and interesting. I wan’t ask you the same.
6. in the list - THE INDEX number signals how hard is a coin for me to swap – the quantity I have. Low index means a harder coin. Coins with indexes lower than 3 (means 2 and 1) I swap only for “hard to get” coins.
IMPORTANT – i don’t like spam mails. If you list my mail adress in any good traders list – list it as somebody\@/ internet.com – do not use directly the @ - the net robots will find any mail adress placed in a web page.

HERE COMES MY SWAP LISTS

If you collect one coin from the type only – please ask me to select the coins for you , writing only the types. I’ll select the best coin possible, but not the rarest year. It's a good way to make the swap easier - both parts will be satisfied - if you choose popular types.

A = first select the coins you want. After that I'll write you the quality of the coins I can offer. In most cases I choose not the best and not the worst I have. If you want a better one, I have one, and your coins can compensate the swap - I'll offer a better coin.
I frecuently make a photo of the offered lot.

B= at the same time send me your doubles list.

C= I prepare you an offer. - with full describtion and even photos. I send it with a selection of your coins I'm interested in. Frecuently is a wide list, and I allow the swapper to chose the coins he can send me easier.

D= YOU send me your compensation offer - ALWAYS WITH EXACT GRADING DESCRIPTION. - then comes individual arrangements. Acceptance.
E= packaging and sending
F- confirmation and a next swap if wanted.

G,H....Z -variations of terms and timetable are possible.
THE LIST OF DOUBLES
1. Regular - circulation coins. None of them is below Very Fine. - about 50% are close to XF and UNC.MOst others at VF+.
2. Conmemorative - almost all of them between UNC and XF* -.
3. Conmemorative 2 zloty NG. all UNC - at least MS60
4. i CAN PREPARE Easy lots (to arm for you) – adressed for starting swappers with almost nothing of Poland in their collection – look at them, I undervalue them – they’re my most doubled ones. Write me what you have from Poland already – I’ll arm you an interesting set. On the page I'LL list a two sample lots.
IMPORTANT - in case the index is higher to 5 - I will undervaluate a bit the coins - especially the more valuable ones. As higher the index - higer the undervaluation. Think about it. If a coin des'nt have a Krause valuation at the presented grading - is supposed the value is one for one.
last update - january 2009
POLAND REGULAR CIRCULATION
Most of the regular c. coins are above VF. About 50% are XF and above. Newest ones are almost all UNC
